The Universidad Laboral is the largest building in Spain and Gijón's architectural masterpiece. Built in the 1950s, it's a monumental 'city' blending classical styles with overflowing ambition: an elliptical church, a theatre, a grand square and a 130-metre tower.
Today it's a 'City of Culture': home to the LABoral art centre, the regional broadcaster and performance venues. Climb the tower, Gijón's highest viewpoint, for sweeping views of the city and coast.
