The marina and Plaza del Marqués are the hinge between downtown and Cimavilla. Sailboats moor here, the square is presided over by the statue of King Pelayo and the Revillagigedo Palace, and it's full of terrace life.

It's prime photo territory: the giant GIJÓN letters by the water and the 'Cider Tree', a sculpture built from thousands of green bottles. A perfect starting point to head up into the old town.
