Every Tuesday and Friday until 11 September, the Rula de Avilés — the fish market hall where the catch fresh off the boats is auctioned — opens its doors for a guided tour. The visit explains how the auction works and why this trade is still central to the port of Avilés.
It's a free activity with very limited capacity, so spots fill up fast: the 4 September session is already full. We'd recommend booking ahead for the next available date if you want to see this side of the harbour.
