Visitas guiadas a la exposición "entre especies. Formas de estar juntas" - laboral
📍 Gijón
LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, together with the Port Authority of Gijón, is running free guided visits to the exhibition "Entre especies. Formas de estar juntas" (Between Species. Ways of Being Together), led by its own artists, María Castellanos and Alberto Valverde (uh513). The tour takes place in the Antigua Rula exhibition hall.
The show builds a speculative fiction around the technologies that mediate between species in today's ports: infrastructures that move goods and people, but also organisms that end up unintentionally carried into ecosystems far from their own. From there, the project asks how a species comes to be labelled "invasive", and how much that label really has to do with our own patterns of mobility rather than with nature itself.
It draws on ideas from thinkers such as Lynn Margulis, Donna Haraway and Anna Tsing on cross-species cooperation and cohabitation in ecosystems reshaped by humans, making it a good chance to explore art that blends science, the port and ecology from a very Gijón perspective.
