Sesiones divulgativas del planetario para preparar el eclipse
📍 Escuela Superior de Marina Civil, Gijón · View on map
Gijón's Planetarium resumes its outreach programme with twelve free sessions designed to bring astronomy closer to the public and help prepare for the lunar eclipse on 12 August. The sessions run on 4, 6, 7 and 10 August at the Escuela Superior de Marina Civil, with three showings a day —at 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00— each lasting around an hour. Organised by Gijón City Council together with the University of Oviedo, the programme offers 504 places in total, in groups of 42 people per session. Registration opens on Monday 3 August at 9:00, through the city council website or the Gijón app, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so early sign-up is advisable. The sessions take place in the recently refurbished planetarium, now fitted with a 4K laser projector, after huge interest in the sessions held last spring, whose places sold out in just three hours.
