Following its screening in La Pola, Laboral Cinemateca Ambulante brings «La placa, una familia de bien» to Lugones, José Antonio Quirós's documentary about an elite family shattered by the untimely death of Jenny Gutwirth. The memorial plaque on an Asturian mountain becomes a symbol of idealised love, or of a destructive obsession that marks several generations.
Her daughters Catherine and Marianne grow up amid silence and secrets until, as adults, they must confront a legacy of exile, ruin and family trauma. Eighty minutes of Asturian documentary (2025), written by Olga Menéndez and Quirós himself.
The screening takes place on Wednesday 21 October at 7.30pm at the Centro Polivalente Integrado de Lugones. Free admission, subject to capacity, organised by the Fundación Municipal de Cultura de Siero.
