A double dance bill at the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto. L'Expat, by Salim Mzé Hamadi (Comoros), tells the story of a man facing the challenges of expatriation and confronting his own culture of origin, focusing on privilege, identity and the contradictions of Western discourse on migration. Then Black, by Oulouy (Ivory Coast), offers a reflection on violence and the emancipation of Blackness through a body that narrates, challenges and unsettles, drawing on the Black Lives Matter movement.
Two 25-minute pieces, inspired by styles such as coupé-décalé, ndombolo, azonto, krump and house. General admission €3, reduced €1.50 for under-31s at the box office, with a post-show talk with the performers at La Danzatería.
