Ruta urbana por gijón: arquitectura y paisaje urbano

A new walking route explores the streets of Gijón to learn the small stories behind its buildings and urban landscape. The tour covers architectural styles such as classicism, eclecticism, modernism, regionalism, art deco, rationalism, autarky, the modern movement and developmentalism, as well as the social, economic and cultural factors that shaped each stage of the city's growth. The activity is part of "Rutas Urbanas, explorando Xixón y sus edificios", a project devised and led by geographer David Alonso. The walk starts at Plaza del Instituto at 6pm, and no prior registration is required.
