Presentación de libro de artista. Pablo casanueva: la imaxe, lo tapecío

As part of the exhibition «La imaxe, lo tapecío», on show in Room 1 of the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto, Pablo Casanueva presents the artist's book that grew out of this project and leads a guided walk through the show. He's joined by Natalia Alonso Arduengo, the exhibition's curator and author of one of the book's texts, and archaeologist and writer Irene Faza, who also contributed to the publication.

Casanueva comes to Gijón with a journey through photography and film into his mother's family's political memory: he combs through the family photo archive and rebuilds the genealogical tree from the perspective of the war's fourth generation, offering a contemporary take on remembrance and the repression so many Asturian families endured. The presentation is on Thursday 3 September at 7:30pm, with free entry.
