On Thursday 22 October, at 8:00 PM, the Auditorio Príncipe Felipe in Oviedo hosts the Princess of Asturias Awards Concert, the musical prelude to the year's big event. The Foundation's Choir and the Oviedo Filarmonía orchestra perform a programme dedicated to great 19th-century masters: Brahms's Tragic Overture and Song of Destiny, and Dvořák's Slavonic Dances and Te Deum.

The concert is presided over by the King and Queen of Spain, the night before the awards ceremony at the Teatro Campoamor. Admission is free, with tickets handed out at the auditorium's box office in the days beforehand, while supplies last.
