Pérdida de equilibrio

On Saturday 3 October, the Paraninfo de la Laboral hosts the Spanish premiere of 'Pérdida de equilibrio' (Loss of Balance), directed by Korek Bojanowski, as part of the Polska Film Showcase. Set in a prestigious acting school, the film follows Maja, a young woman who doubts her own talent, whose life turns upside down when a new director arrives.

Through that relationship, the film explores the tensions between vocation, ambition and power, raising uncomfortable questions about ethics, authority and the emotional cost of chasing excellence, a portrait of workplace harassment told with intensity and ambiguity, awarded the Young Jury Prize at the 2024 Gdynia Polish Film Festival.

Screened in Polish with subtitles and not recommended for under-14s, the event is organised with the Polish Institute in Madrid and the Polish Film Institute. Admission is free, but tickets must be collected in advance at the designated points.
