John Cassavetes' cinema opens October's programme at the Centro Niemeyer with the portrait of an actress going through a crisis during rehearsals for a play. Gena Rowlands brings Myrtle Gordon to life in a film that blends the stage with personal life, one of the peaks of 1970s American independent cinema.

The screening, in original version with subtitles, takes place at the Sala Cine Fran Gayo, part of the Centro Niemeyer's regular arthouse film programme.
