Madreñas de barro. Proyecto de cerámica sobre la tradición asturiana
📍 Punto de encuentro: Recepción de la Laboral · View on map
Avilés-based artist Nuria Pozas Corredera leads a ceramics workshop at the Laboral aimed at adults: shaping clay into your own take on the madreña, Asturias' traditional wooden clog. The activity links Asturian tradition with contemporary ceramic art, giving each participant the chance to create a unique version of this iconic piece of footwear.
Nuria Pozas is a multidisciplinary artist who works between Spain and Italy, a member of LABoral's Archive of Asturian Artists and founder of the Offplastic project, focused on reducing plastic use through art. Her background in both utilitarian and artistic ceramics makes for a workshop suited to beginners and experienced hands alike.
It takes place on Saturday 24 October, from 12pm to 1pm, meeting at the Laboral's reception. The price is €12 (€10 for Club Cultura members until 23 October), with only 20 spots available.
