📍 Centro Niemeyer, Avilés · View on map
Centro Niemeyer in Avilés presents 'Platos giratorios' ('Spinning Plates'), an exhibition by Carmen Calvo (Valencia, 1950), a pioneer of feminism in Spanish art and a leading voice in her critical view of a society bound by rigid moral rules. Her work, impossible to pin down to a single movement or technique, spans surrealism, arte povera and conceptual art through sculpture, photography, ceramics and collage, with childhood and womanhood at the centre of her artistic universe. The show, curated by Ana Berruguete, can be visited Wednesday to Sunday, priced at 5 euros (4 euros reduced).
