On Friday 2 October, as part of the Cine Polska showcase, the Paraninfo de la Laboral screens 'Los monaguillos' ('Ministranci'), the latest feature by Polish director Piotr Domalewski, who will be in the room to talk with the audience after the screening. The film follows a group of altar boys as childhood gives way to a more complex understanding of the world, caught between religious tradition, family and community expectations, blending humour, drama and social critique into an honest portrait of lost innocence.
A Spanish premiere, shown in the original Polish with subtitles, the film arrives backed by several awards from the Gdynia and Zlín festivals. Entry is free with a prior ticket (check the collection points) and the screening offers on-demand hearing accessibility.
