Jorge Nava protagoniza una exposición en Lugones

The Centro Polivalente Integrado in Lugones hosts "Flores para mi padre" ("Flowers for my father"), the new exhibition by visual artist Jorge Nava, a personal take on the still-life genre and, specifically, flower painting. The series was created as a tribute to his father, who passed away in August 2025, and was painted outdoors, in the garden that was once his old studio.
In these large-format, unstretched canvases, somewhere between figuration and abstraction, Nava approaches the still life with total freedom, without preliminary sketches, altering the traditional scale to focus on gesture and physical contact with the paint. Here, flowers stand for the whole cycle of life: joy, beauty, the fleeting nature of existence, decay and death. It's a good pick for anyone interested in contemporary painting and its dialogue with the still-life tradition.
Organised by the Municipal Foundation for Culture of Siero with support from the "Asturies, Cultura en Rede" programme, the exhibition can be visited from 5 to 23 October, Monday to Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, free of charge.
