Casa Municipal de Cultura in Llanes hosts the Asturian premiere of «Hutsune handi bat» («A Great Void»), Alex Areizaga's documentary that recalls the 115 deaths and thousands of lives destroyed by heroin and AIDS in the 1980s and 90s in the Basque towns of Zumarraga and Urretxu.
Through the testimonies of residents, doctors and other professionals who helped patients and families through those years, the film aims to humanise that tragedy and give a sense of its impact on an entire generation. After the screening there will be a discussion moderated by filmmaker Lía Lugilde. Admission is free, with prior booking required.
