Centro Niemeyer presents a musicalised lecture that engages directly with one section of the exhibition 'Art and Spirituality: Imagining the Extraordinary', titled 'Between Pain and Ecstasy, Miracle and Healing'. The session traces the evolution of landscape throughout art history, looking at how each era has projected its own ideas and concerns onto nature: contemplation of the surroundings, the cultural construction of landscape, humanity's mark on the land, and today's environmental challenges. Art historian and cultural writer Patricia Pérez leads the talk, while lyric soprano Susana Gudín, accompanied on piano, provides a live musical backdrop that weaves a dialogue with the works on display. The event takes place in the Centro Niemeyer's Dome and lasts around 45 minutes.
