Fiestas de San Mateo 2026
📍 Oviedo · View on map
Oviedo throws itself a party for almost three weeks: from 10 to 27 September, San Mateo fills the city with stages, street dances, vermouth sessions and a closing romería. It opens on the 10th on Calle Uría with Celtas Cortos.
The music spreads across squares and neighbourhoods. El Bombé hosts the popular concerts from the 11th to the 21st, from Chimo Bayo and King Africa to Amistades Peligrosas, Orquesta Mondragón and Alejo Stivel, while the La Ería site gathers the big names: Mónica Naranjo, Taburete, Leiva, Rodrigo Cuevas and Bertín Osborne. The brand-new Vetusta Fest lands on 20 September with Siloé, Ultraligera, Sexy Zebras and Mafalda Cardenal, and Plaza Feijoo hosts the Rock Contest and the AMAS awards.
There is something on at every hour: vermouth sessions and afternoon dancing in Porlier and around the cathedral, the A la Plaza series in Plaza del Paraguas, choir performances in Parque del Oeste and a children's programme in Campo San Francisco. It all wraps up on the 27th with the traditional Romería del Cristo.
Oviedo is half an hour from Gijón by train or car, so it is an easy day out.
