The rural parish of Serín honours the Virgen de Covadonga from 5 to 8 September 2026 with a classic countryside festival programme. Friday kicks off the «xaréu» with children's activities and a neighbourhood barbecue with live music; Saturday brings the traditional vermouth followed by a lamb feast, and a holi party for the little ones afterwards. Sunday is the big day: a solemn mass for the patron saint, a vermouth session, children's games, a night-time dance and the classic dawn hot chocolate that closes the festival among neighbours. A perfect way to experience rural Gijón at its most festive.
