Exposición Compromiso y Memoria de la Asociación Trece Rosas

The Trece Rosas Asturias association was founded in Oviedo in 2009, on the 70th anniversary of the execution in Madrid of the thirteen young women who give it its name. This exhibition takes stock of its fifteen years of work on democratic memory and, along the way, tells the story of those women.
The display is built around fourteen panels and several sections. The first explains the reason for the show and recalls the story of the Trece Rosas; another goes through the chronology of the awards the association presents each year to individuals, groups and institutions who suffered repression or have stood out in defending memory; and taken together they reveal a steady effort to keep talking about the civil war, the repression that followed and the meaning of the dictatorship.
It can be visited at the Casa de las Mujeres in Avilés, Calle La Ferrería 27, until 31 August, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
