Exposición cartelos n’asturianu (1976-2005)
📍 Museu del Pueblu de A´sturies · View on map
At the Muséu del Pueblu d'Asturies we present over forty years of poster art in the Asturian language, drawn from the collection donated by the Fundación Belenos, an organisation founded in 1983 to study, preserve and promote Asturian culture, with particular attention to traditional and Celtic heritage.
The show brings together a selection of the oldest posters from an archive of almost two thousand pieces (1972-2021), a direct record of the movement to reclaim the Asturian language that began during the Transition with Conceyu Bable and the slogan "¡Bable nes escueles!". Expect posters for concerts, festivals, Celtic nights and political and environmental causes, many of them ephemeral pieces that survive only thanks to this collection, blending popular, Celtic and prehistoric motifs with a thoroughly contemporary design, created by illustrators, artists and amateur activists alike.
We recommend this visit to anyone curious about Asturias' recent history and graphic design. Admission is free and the exhibition runs from 25 March to 1 November 2026 at Paseo del Dr. Fleming, 877. The full Belenos collection catalogue can be explored online at fondos.gijon.es.
