The International Photojournalism Encounter of Asturias (EIFA) holds its latest edition in Gijón, now firmly established as a leading cultural, professional and educational event in the region. The programme runs from mid-September to late October, with its central days concentrated between 1 and 3 October at the Escuela de Comercio, and includes photography exhibitions also displayed outdoors around the city, round tables, talks, screenings and training workshops led by well-known photojournalists. New this year is the Popular Photography Award, which for the first time lets the public take an active part, alongside the event's main prize. Organisations such as Médicos del Mundo, Reporters Without Borders and Open Arms are among the collaborators.
