El veranín de art street 2026
📍 Calle Palacio Valdés · View on map
Since 2012, Calle Palacio Valdés in Avilés has turned into an open-air stage every summer, and this year the formula stretches into October. Behind it is ART Street Palacio Valdés, a project run by local shopkeepers, artists and neighbours that brought the creative pulse back to the street and now programmes music, theatre and poetry almost every week.
The calendar has its own rhythm: Thursdays bring a cultural slot at midday, from 1.30 to 3 p.m., and another one at night, from 8 to 10.30 p.m.; Fridays and eves of public holidays have a concert from 8.30 to 11 p.m.; Saturdays, another from 1.30 to 3.30 p.m. The most ambitious date is the MINI Festival on 15 August, which takes over the whole street from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. with concerts, theatre, activities for children and a market of artists and makers.
It is the kind of plan that needs no planning: you walk past, you stay for a while, and you end up having a drink on a terrace.
