Documental "los últimos pastores"

For over 5,000 years, shepherds have lived in the mountains of the Picos de Europa. For brothers Fernando and Manolo Mier, shepherds since the age of thirteen, this is still home: in a place where many wouldn't survive, they enjoy life, and unlike other shepherds, they haven't left upon reaching retirement age, because they can't imagine living any other way, anywhere else.

«Los últimos pastores» (Samu Fuentes, 2023, 85 min) portrays the current situation of the few shepherds left in the Picos de Europa. The screening, part of the Ciclo de Cine Científico, includes an introduction and a Q&A with the director afterwards. It's on Monday 28 September at 7pm at the Escuela de Comercio, with free access until the venue fills up.
