«Ladrones de fuego» (Francisco Vaquero, 2026, 85 min) invites reflection on the serious problem of forest fires in Spain and their link to institutional neglect of rural areas. With unmanaged woodland on the rise, firefighting resources are increasingly falling short, and without prevention there can be no putting fires out.

The documentary delves into the experience of those who still live in these territories: often the first to face the flames, and the ones who lose the most with every fire. It screens on Thursday 1 October at 7pm at the Escuela de Comercio, as part of the Ciclo de Cine Científico, with free access until the venue fills up.
