Día de la ruta

📍 Museo Villa Romana de Veranes · View on map

The Gijón/Xixón Archaeological Museums celebrate Vía de la Plata Route Day, marking Emperor Trajan's birthday, with three days of activities at the Museo Villa Romana de Veranes. On Friday 18 September at 7:30pm, the Pablo Canalís Quartet performs a concert blending Balkan dances, tarantella, Celtic music, African rhythms and Andean and Eastern influences, in a show suitable for all audiences. On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, during regular museum hours, the Cohors I Gallica group stages a historical re-enactment: you'll see what it was like to walk a Roman road and watch the recreation of a convivium, the banquet that the lords of Veranes offered their guests, along with scenes from the daily life of this noble family. All activities are free and require no advance booking.
