Ciudades para trabajar: ruta guiada por Mieres

The Museum of Mining and Industry of Asturias (MUMI) is running "Ciudades para Trabajar. Guided routes through the urban and social heritage of Las Cuencas", a programme bringing mining and industrial history to the streets of El Entrego and Mieres, as part of the 2026 European Heritage Days.
This second stop of the programme takes place in Mieres, following the first route in El Entrego. Led by cultural guide David Alonso Medina, the walk explores places that go beyond industrial buildings alone: old mine shafts, workers' villages and cinemas that shaped everyday life in Las Cuencas for much of the 20th century, up to the industrial restructuring of the 1980s.
The activity is free and no prior booking is required. The museum will announce the specific route details for Mieres on its social media in the days before the event.
