Cinerama XXI screens Céline Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on Fire at the Escuela de Comercio, in a session organised with Asturias' Lesbian Film Showcase and introduced by María José Palma. Brittany, 1770: Marianne arrives on an island to paint the portrait of Héloïse, recently out of the convent and set to marry a man she has never met; Héloïse refuses to pose because the painting will seal the marriage, so Marianne must accompany her by day, observe her, and paint from memory at night. The watching gradually turns into shared attention, in a love story sustained by time and art that won best screenplay and the Queer Palm at Cannes 2019.
