Cinerama XXI screens Lars von Trier's Melancholia at the Escuela de Comercio. Justine and Michael celebrate their wedding at the home of Claire, the bride's sister, and her husband; everything is set for a perfect night, but Justine drifts away from the guests and the ritual while a blue planet that seemed to be passing by, Melancholia, approaches Earth. Split into two movements and carried by Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg, the film pits two opposite ways of facing catastrophe against each other: one who can't inhabit normality, and one who clings to it. Von Trier turns depression and the end of the world into an intimate, devastatingly beautiful spectacle; Dunst won best actress at Cannes 2011.
