Cinerama XXI: Frances Ha
📍 Escuela de Comercio · View on map
Cinerama XXI screens Noah Baumbach's Frances Ha at the Escuela de Comercio. Frances lives in New York, dances for a company without quite belonging to it, and shares with her best friend Sophie a closeness that seemed unshakeable; when Sophie decides to move out, Frances's life suddenly loses its centre, bringing temporary flats, badly paid jobs and the feeling that everyone else is moving forward while she keeps rehearsing. Written by Baumbach with Greta Gerwig, who also stars, the film finds comedy and energy in precariousness and adult friendship, shot in a black and white that moves with the lightness of a dance routine. Gerwig was nominated for the Golden Globe for best actress in 2014. Free entry until full capacity, subject to picking up an invitation at entradascultura.gijon.es.
