📍 Centro Niemeyer, Avilés · View on map
Centro Niemeyer hosts Constelaciones fotográficas. Pensar desde las imágenes, the first exhibition drawn from the Centro Nacional de Fotografía's collection. With 102 works by 38 artists, the show brings together pieces by every winner of Spain's National Photography Award to date, from Gabriel Cualladó and Cristina García Rodero to Carmela García, alongside standout voices from newer generations such as Yolanda del Amo and Jon Cazenave.
Curated by Mónica Carabias Álvaro, director of the CNF, the exhibition traces the key names, languages and trends of contemporary Spanish photography, accompanied by a book with essays by Carabias and writer Lara Moreno. The opening, on October 2 at 6 pm, is free and open to the public; afterwards, general admission is €5 (reduced €4), with the last hour of each afternoon free of charge.
