Berrea del venado en la sierra de peñamayor - 25 septiembre
📍 Oficina de Turismo de Nava · View on map
Every autumn, the Sierra de Peñamayor, in Nava, fills with the roar of stags: it's the deer rutting season, one of the most striking natural spectacles of Asturian wildlife. The Nava Hunters' Association, together with the Town Council and the Comarca de la Sidra association of municipalities, organises several guided observation sessions in September to witness this courtship ritual in the wild.
The meeting point is the Nava Tourist Office, from where you'll travel by your own vehicle along unpaved tracks (suitable footwear and clothing are recommended, along with binoculars). The activity is free, but places are limited and booking in advance is essential.
