Akira yoshida. "Home"
📍 Paseo Begoña, frente al Teatro Jovellanos · View on map
Dancer and creator Akira Yoshida presents Home on Paseo Begoña, opposite Teatro Jovellanos, a piece portraying a body driven by curiosity and the desire to inhabit another skin, to try on an identity that isn't its own. In this search for shelter and transformation, gesture turns against itself, revealing the fragility of what we believe ourselves to be and the strange distance that can exist between oneself and one's own home.
Trained at SEAD on Navarre's main arts scholarship, Yoshida has worked with companies such as Peeping Tom, Lali Ayguadé Company and Kukai Dantza. A brief, 15-minute piece, with music by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto, among others. In case of rain, it moves under the theatre's canopy.
