Viva follows Nora, a woman in her early forties who has just recovered from an illness and feels a radical urge to live intensely. Used to pushing herself to the limit in every area of her life, she finds herself torn between the stability of her long-term relationship with Tom and the sudden arrival of Max, a young man who awakens in her a new craving for freedom. Directed by Aina Clotet, who also stars alongside Marc Soler and Guillermo Toledo, this Spanish production won the Rising Talent Award at the 2026 Cannes Critics' Week. Shown in Spanish, with some Catalan-language scenes subtitled, not recommended for under-16s, on Saturday 28 November at 7pm at the Paraninfo de la Laboral, as part of the Laboral Cinemateca selection. General admission €4, reduced €3.
