Avilés holds its Tapa Week —known as Tapavilés— from 7 to 13 September, organised by the Avilés area's hospitality association (UCAYC). Restaurants, cider houses, wine bars and hotels compete with bite-sized culinary creations meant to be savoured slowly around the town centre.

The gastromap published for the occasion works as a guide for tracing your own tapas route and entering the prize draw: hotel stays, winery visits and other experiences offered by the participating venues.
