Metrópolis, cine-concierto

Jazz Xixón presents a cine-concert around Metropolis, Fritz Lang's silent-film masterpiece, at the Teatro Jovellanos, with original live music by a contemporary jazz ensemble made up of César Latorre on piano and keyboards, David Pastor on trumpet, Horacio García on double bass and Verónica R. Galán on voice and electronics, alongside drums and percussion.

This isn't a screening with background music, but a full stage experience in which image and sound converse in real time throughout the entire film. Metropolis is also one of the few films recognised as UNESCO Memory of the World, the first ever to receive that distinction, for its vivid portrayal of an entire society's complexity.

A singular, intense artistic event, on Thursday 5 November at 20:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón.
