As part of Jazz Xixón, the Teatro Jovellanos hosts Recital 2.0, the duo project of Daniel García Diego and Pablo Martín Caminero, two musicians usually associated with flamenco jazz but trained in classical music, a source they've never stopped drawing from. Building on that shared background, the duo looks for balance between faithfully performing works by great composers and improvising new melodies over those same harmonic landscapes. A carefully chosen repertoire of favourite pieces, not always 'classical' in the strict sense, reworked and improvised on live. An evening of piano and double bass in constant dialogue between tradition and jazz freedom, on Wednesday 4 November at 20:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón.
