Alquimia tells the story of an actress whose career has been stalled for years, best known for a children's commercial that never quite led anywhere. Now determined to relaunch herself, she gathers her family and closest friends to share something that has been on her mind for a while, a big idea that will force everyone to make important decisions. Written and directed by Konchi Rodríguez, this Spanish dramedy, led by María Rivas and Pipe Pereda in a large ensemble cast, was part of the official selection of the 2025 Gijón/Xixón Film Festival (FICX). Shown in Spanish on Friday 27 November at 7pm at the Paraninfo de la Laboral, as part of the Laboral Cinemateca selection. General admission €4, reduced €3 for Club Cultura Asturias, Pasaporte Cultural, Uniovi community and Carnet Joven Asturias members.
