To mark the anniversary of Federico García Lorca's assassination, Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto hosts the cycle "Teatro para un aniversario: Federico García Lorca. 1936-2026", three stage productions paying tribute to his human, literary and artistic legacy from 11 to 13 September 2026. The programme brings together "Federico. No hay olvido, ni sueño: carne viva" (Proyecto 43-2, on the 11th), "Si yo fuera Federico" (Factoría Norte, on the 12th) and "Cartas a Lorca" (Luz de Gas Teatro, on the 13th), three different takes on an author whose voice still speaks to freedom, memory and the defence of culture against intolerance. All sessions are at 19:30 with free admission until full capacity; a free pass must be booked in advance at entradascultura.gijon.es.
