The Municipal Social Services Foundation resumes its "Parque con Apoyos" leisure programme after the summer break, designed to help Gijón families with children who have disabilities and high support needs enjoy some free time. Every Saturday and Sunday between September 2026 and June 2027, except during the Christmas, Easter and summer breaks, children and young people aged 6 to 21 take part in rotating groups of eight, accompanied by a team of six specialised professionals, in leisure activities at venues such as Isabel la Católica park, Moreda swimming pool, the Las Mestas Sports Complex or the Museum of the Peoples of Asturias. The programme, which began as a pilot in 2023, offers 35 places per edition and requires prior registration: applicants' support needs are assessed and priority goes to those who have not taken part before.
