Itinerario de patrimonio: del castillo de Gauzón a la villa de Avilés
📍 Lugar de encuentro: parada de autobús de la Gota de Leche (C/ Palacio Valdés, 2) · View on map
This Universidad Popular itinerary, led by Aurora Valdés Caso, traces the shift from the late-antique fortress of Gauzón castle —the hub of the district and where the Cross of Victory was made— to the urban consolidation of Avilés’ port and town in the Late Middle Ages. It looks at settlement, defensive architecture, liturgical spaces and socio-economic change.
It takes place on Saturday 7 November. It leaves from the Gota de Leche bus stop (C/ Palacio Valdés, 2), 10:00 to 14:00; arrive 15 minutes early. It costs €12, has 20 places and enrolment runs 27–30 October from 8:30 at actividades.gijon.es or in the Gijón app.
