High Life is Claire Denis' foray into science fiction, starring Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche. In deep space, Monte and his young daughter Willow live in complete isolation aboard a spacecraft. It wasn't always that way: they were once part of a group of death-row inmates who agreed to commute their sentences by joining a mission toward the black hole closest to Earth. Alongside Pattinson and Binoche, André Benjamin and Mia Goth round out the cast of this French production, winner of the FIPRESCI prize in San Sebastián and screened at the Sitges Festival in 2018. Shown in the original English version with subtitles, not recommended for under-16s, on Friday 6 November at 7pm at the Paraninfo de la Laboral, as part of Asturias' Science and Innovation Week, in collaboration with the regional Ministry of Science, Industry and Employment. General admission €4, reduced €3.
