Jazz Xixón closes its programme at the Teatro Jovellanos with Emma-Jean Thackray, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and Mercury Prize nominee, presenting live for the first time Dear Miles - A Love Letter, a project inspired by Miles Davis's electric period that pushes further into electronic territory, blurring the lines between jazz improvisation and dance music. Described by The Guardian as 'a crossover star', Thackray moves easily between jazz, soul, pop, funk and electronic music. This new project follows Weirdo, her acclaimed Mercury Prize-shortlisted album, a powerful and deeply personal statement from one of the UK's most original artists, known for her bold creativity on stage. She's joined by Dougal Taylor on drums, Lyle Barton on keys and Matt Gedrych on bass, on Saturday 7 November at 20:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón.
