Cinerama XXI: El viaje de Chihiro
📍 Escuela de Comercio · View on map
Cinerama XXI's family session at the Escuela de Comercio screens Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away. On the way to their new home, Chihiro and her parents drive through a tunnel and arrive at a seemingly abandoned town; when night falls, the place fills with gods and spirits, her parents turn into pigs, and the girl is trapped under the power of the witch Yubaba. To survive and get her name back, Chihiro must work in a huge bathhouse, learn its rules and find allies among unpredictable creatures, in a world of endless imagination that never loses sight of her fear and courage. The film, dubbed in Spanish, won the Oscar for best animated film in 2003, and its studio, Studio Ghibli, is this year's recipient of the Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities.
