The Black Heritage Choir, following the success of its tour marking the 50th anniversary of Aretha Franklin's recording of 'Amazing Grace', returns to Europe with 'The Soul of Gospel', an updated version of its acclaimed 'The Sound of Gospel Tour' on its 20th anniversary, at Teatro Jovellanos.
The group, made up of a selection of singers from the Mississippi Mass Choir under the direction of Jerry Calvin Smith, pays tribute to gospel from its origins on the plantations to its more urban offshoots. What makes the show unique is that it is a choir of soloists, where every member takes a leading role without weakening the sound of the ensemble.
A celebration of gospel whose impact has won over audiences from Spain to Japan.
