Gijón's Plaza Mayor hosts the final of the historic Asturian Song Contest, one of the region's longest-running traditional singing competitions, organised by the newspaper El Comercio.
On the night, the finalists chosen in the previous rounds take the stage to perform pieces from the traditional Asturian repertoire in front of the audience in the city centre.
It's a classic summer date in Gijón, linked to the International Folk Festival (FFI) and Festejos Divertia's programme in the square.
