Orquesta Waykas, also known as Waykas Family, performs in Plaza 3 de Abril as part of Gijón's summer programme. Originally founded in the 1960s, this veteran Asturian group is known for its motto — 'the fiercest band around' — and for decades spent livening up verbenas and popular festivals across northern Spain. The free concert, organised by Divertia, takes place at 10:30pm and promises the classic festive verbena atmosphere that has made the orchestra a household name for decades.
