📍 Oviedo · View on map
Ópera de Oviedo's 79th season opens at the Teatro Campoamor with Sorrow, a new pairing that puts Mahler's Kindertotenlieder alongside Puccini's Suor Angelica around a shared theme: grief and the possibility of hope after suffering. Baritone Jacques Imbrailo sings Mahler's song cycle, while Beatriz Díaz leads the cast of Suor Angelica, receiving its first staging in Oviedo in a brand-new production. Diego Martín-Etxebarria conducts the OSPA, with stage direction by Joan Anton Rechi and the participation of the Ópera de Oviedo's resident choir and the children's choir of the Divertimento music school.
