On 5 and 6 September 2026 Gijón hosts OCEANMAN, an international open-water swimming circuit that arrives in the city as part of the Gijón Open Water Swimming Circuit and counts towards the RFEN Spanish Cup. Playa San Lorenzo and Playa Poniente stage races for every level: from the 10km Oceanman and 5km Half Oceanman to the 1.5km Sprint, the OceanTeams relay and the 500m OceanKids race designed so children can join the experience too. Registration is done online through the event's official website, with prices that vary depending on when you sign up. A great plan for swimming fans, and also for anyone who wants to cheer swimmers on from the beach.
